PRESS RELEASE: Rufus Gifford Hires Dean Lieberman as Communications Director

Andover native joins growing team of top strategists

LOWELL — Rufus Gifford, candidate for Congress for Massachusetts’ third congressional district, today announced Dean Lieberman as Communications Director for his campaign.

A native of Andover, Mass., Lieberman previously served in a variety of spokesperson and senior communications roles at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C. and overseas. He also served as Press Secretary to U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.). He graduated from Andover High School and Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.

“Building a top-notch campaign team is a top priority for me, so I’m excited that Dean has come home to help spread our core message of optimism, trust, and human decency,” said Gifford.

“I’ve seen Rufus in action at the State Department, and I know that’s exactly the type of dedicated public servant the third district deserves in Washington,” said Lieberman.

Gifford previously announced a series of staff hires including Ben Martello as campaign manager and some of the leading strategists in the third district.
