PRESS RELEASE: Gifford Announces Fitchburg Office

May 2, 2018

LOWELL— Rufus Gifford, candidate for Congress in Massachusetts’ 3rd congressional district, today announced the opening of a campaign office in Fitchburg, Mass. In the race to replace retiring Rep. Niki Tsongas, Gifford’s campaign is the first to open an office in Worcester County.

“I have spent a lot of time driving west on Route 2 since I launched this campaign,” said Gifford. “I’ve enjoyed all the hours I’ve spent listening to and learning from folks in the western part of the district in their homes, diners, coffee shops, senior centers, and beyond. Whether it’s at Cozy Corner in Fitchburg, Dragonfly Cafe in Lunenburg or Cafe Edesia in Gardner, Worcester County will be seeing a lot more of me in the weeks and months ahead.”

After a day of canvassing in Fitchburg, the campaign will host an office opening celebration on Saturday, May 5 at 3:00 p.m. Gifford will address supporters and volunteers at the office, located at 444 Main Street, above Shacks.

Additionally, Gifford announced the hiring of Aidan Horgan as Field Organizer for Worcester County. Horgan is a member of the Fitchburg School Committee, a senior at Fitchburg State University, and an active member of the Fitchburg community.

I am so happy to have Aidan onboard,” said Gifford. “As our field operation expands,  it means we’re going to have more neighbor-to-neighbor conversations and build even more human connections, which is what this campaign is all about.”
