LOWELL—Rufus Gifford, Democratic candidate for Congress in Massachusetts’ 3rd District, today announced the launch of his first television ads.
The 30-second and 60-second ads, both titled “Trust,” will air on cable television and digital platforms throughout the 3rd District.

The ads center on Gifford’s campaign message of restoring trust between people and government. They depict Gifford traveling across the district, engaging with voters, and creating human connections in coffee shops, restaurants, community centers, backyards, and living rooms.
Gifford says in the voiceover, “People have lost faith in government, and we’ve got to build that trust back. And we do it one person at a time, one conversation at a time.”
After noting his experience as U.S. Ambassador to Denmark and a senior aide to President Obama, Gifford says, “I’ve seen the magic of our system. I believe in our country. It wasn’t that long ago that we were inspired by the work of our government, and we can do this again.”
In creating the ads, Gifford sought to highlight community organizations and small businesses around the 3rd District. For example, the ad features scenes at Gaining Ground Farm in Concord, a nonprofit farm that donates its fresh vegetables to local food pantries; 19 Carter, a new type of community center for local gatherings in Berlin; Coffee and Cotton in Lowell; and the Boulder Cafe in Fitchburg.
The ads were produced by the Win Company.
