PRESS RELEASE: U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown Endorses Rufus Gifford for Congress

LOWELL—Rufus Gifford, Democratic candidate for Congress in Massachusetts’ 3rd District, today welcomed an endorsement from U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio).

“Rufus has dedicated his career to advocating for progressive causes, expanding economic opportunity for working families, and making life better for those around him,” said Senator Brown. “I know Rufus will be a bold and effective leader in Congress because he’s demonstrated a commitment to service and his community. His strong values and ability to bring different viewpoints together will serve his district well, and I’m proud to endorse him.”

“I am so humbled by and grateful for Senator Brown’s endorsement,” said Gifford. “I first worked with Senator Brown over 10 years ago, and it was a privilege to stand with him then as it is today. He has been such a strong progressive champion over the years, so I couldn’t be happier to have his support.”  

Senator Brown is the second U.S. Senator to endorse Gifford, following Senator Tim Kaine (D-Va.).
